So it’s February. January flew by. I feel I was only present for half of January because what ever was going around…..you name it, I caught it! I am glad to see January ’16 leave. And good riddance. Meanwhile, I have been busy with new designs for an up coming tile mosaic job I have been hired to create. It’s always exciting to have a new challenge, a reprieve from the daily bread and butter. I will give you a sneak preview…..based on the mural I designed and created for a Rocky Point, Mexico sea side residence over the summer/ 2015. I…

Happy 2016 Back on Track
Happy New Year Ya’ll. I have many exciting goals and plans for 2016. My intentions are mostly to be healthier, peaceful and a bit more “out there”. Healthier: Eating better. I started eating better last year but got off track during the holidays. I am still making my bone broth, my sauerkraut. and goat milk kefir on a weekly basis. But cutting out the processed foods and sugar will help immensely. I follow a functional doctor, Dr. Joshua Axe. He is awesome because he works with gut issues. And I believe as he does that all disease comes…
New Botanical Pottery, Agave Cactus
Agave Serving Dish set. One of my favorite plants of the Sonoran Desert is the Agave Cactus. There are many different agaves but all of them hold inspiring beauty. What attracts me to them is their elegant long leaves, their texture and their spikey sillouette against the landscapes. And so I have created these whimsical serving plates or spoon rests. It makes a great table decor or give as a wedding gift. Each one is handmade from highfire clay and glazes with food safe glazes. These are available through my website at http://www.robinchladdesigns.artspan.com
Ringing in the New Year
It will soon be 2013. I am looking back and counting all my blessings but also looking forward to diving into the new year with hopes and dreams, ideas and plans. As I always do each January, I make a list of things I would like to accomplish. I strive to meet all my goals but I am only human and always fall short of the list of goals. I think I have made great strides in 2012. I have managed to juggle several care-giving jobs and build my craft and grow my business. I have had my moments of…
Up & Coming Fall Art Shows 2012
I am so excited about this coming season. Fall! It’s finally here and I am busy making inventory as fast as I can. I spent the summer building stock and all of that went into galleries: Tucson Botanical Gardens Gift Shop, Tucson Museum of Art Gift Shop and Mas Y Mas. (More about the galleries later), I am producing more art pieces and my creativity is exploding. I have been planning my booth design, making mental notes of the items I will need to maximize the space. I look forward to being in the atmosphere of artists ready to put a smile on their faces and sell. To an artist, a sale is a validation…
Cooler Weather on the Horizona
Yes it is still hot in Arizona. But it should be cooling down by the end of the month. It’s been a fairly moist monsoon season and that makes it bareable to live in Tucson in the summer. So I am gearing up for more outdoor living. And expect others are too. We are already thinking about what we are planning to plant in our fall and winter gardens, which cool weather flowers to replace the sun scorched ones on the patio and what else can be done to beautify the outdoors backyard. We Tucsonians like to make it fun and…
