Next weekend is the Chris Bubany Holiday Marketplace held at Harlow Gardens.   NOvember 3 & 4 I am proud to be a part of this show every year because it premieres the best artisans in the Tucson area  and it is held at one of the prettiest nurserys in town.  I mean Harlow Gardens is a gorgeous setting.  For me, it begins my season for offering new work I have been working on all summer. October being just a few days away, I would like to remind folks that October 6, next Saturday is my last mosaic workshop for the season.  It’s been such fun helping my students design, glue and grout! Boom! They were done and leaving with a really beautiful tile mosaic wall piece they could hang in their house or give as a gift.  I loved watching their excitement when everything started to come together… They all said, and I quote, ” I am so glad I took this class.” Ya see, I make all the tile up in advance. Pretty hot indeed. But the garden doesn’t mind it.  I started a “monsoon garden” last week and everything is coming up nice and robust.  I had to hang a shade cloth over it though, so the little sprouts wouldn’t get burned.  It’s been 109 degrees here in Tucson.. ..I know, yuk! I have the screen over the seedlings because Cats you know. I have a new little venture. I decided to enter 3 of my canvas paintings into a juried art show. All three were accepted. I was excited to receive the news.  I still am.  I have been in many juried shows through out my 29 year art career but this one is different because I entered canvas paintings only.  I love painting and I love ceramics.  Ceramics comes easier of coarse.   But painting, I am never too sure.  I am amazed how other painters can just whip up so many beautiful ideas and have a great body of work to…
