I know it is still spring but Tucson is an exception. However, the wicked triple digits have been staying off for a longer pleasant spring.
I have been thoroughly enjoying the gardening/ wild flowering/ cactus blooming season in my tiny back yard. I am surrounding myself with nature while I work on mosaic tile projects… (to be shown soon. Bees, hummers, butterflies, families of Finches and Verdins have a safe haven right here. The littlest joys bring inspiration to my art creations.
And I just have to say, Congratulations to my daughter, Shauna and her partner, Ryan, for giving birth to her 4th baby, August Alexander, this morning. Welcome to the world little guy.
Summer time Classes:
Classes are going smoothly! Today begins a second series (May) of 4 classes in Small Sculpture Tile. We made a shadow box with quail and cactus. We stuck to the same layout and same glazes. Like this one:
And we also made a 3-d Saguaro in a Pot hanging tile. The girls did a fantastic job. I let them pick their favorite colors to glaze with. They also played with my home made stamps. The stamps create texture, dimension and an interesting background.
Next session begins Tuesdays, June 25th thru July 16th and after that, July 23rd thru Aug. 13th.
So, if you are interested in taking a Small Sculpture tile class this summer, I am offering a day time hours class on Tuesdays from 10-12. The first class will be up to 3 hours long, and after that the last 3 classes will be 2 hours long. Click here to sign up.
