I enjoy making 3 D tiles and ornaments because I love sculpting and it makes my mosaics much more dynamic.

Donkey Shadow Box February 3,4,16,17 2026

2 Tuesdays, 2 Wednesdays 5-7 p.m.

It will be at my studio, 4180 W Plantation st.

Learn how to make a 3-D donkey shadow box using Robin’s techniques. This is such a sweet image that tells a story of a Donkey in the desert with his bf Red Bird. Lesson, tools and firings are included. Clay and glazes should be purchases at Marjons Ceramic Supply Store. Supply list will be provided after registration. This class can take up to 4 separate days to complete.

Tile Making Workshop (Wednesdays and Thursdays) July 9,10,23,24 2025

Classes are Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 – 7:00p.m. 4180 W Plantation St.

Learn how to make mosaic tile from scratch to use in various mosaic projects. Learn Robin’s unique glazing techniques. Price includes lesson, clay, tools and 2 firings. There is a material / glaze fee $ 30.00 at the door. We will discuss design application. All in an air conditioned building.

Mosaic Bench Workshop, February 27 & 28 2026

Is making a mosaic bench on your bucket list! Here’s your chance. Fall Bench Workshop will be here before you know it. Now taking reservations.

Class Includes pre-made tile by Robin to choose from. The cost is $995.00 and includes bench, tile, glue, grout, tax and lesson. Tiles include up to 8 large size tiles (3″ to 5″ tiles) and all the filler tile to complete the bench top and sides. It is an intensive 2 day workshop and will be held outdoors. You will be bending over, squatting, and using elbow grease to complete your bench. It will be held at Robin’s home studio.

If you would like custom tile (like your pets or favorite critters) created for you, contact me. Cost is extra.

Critter tiles such as coyotes, rabbits, wild cats, roadrunners with extra cute details are priced accordingly and will be extra.

To reserve your place, (you can also have your spouse or sig. other to help as well). You will have to make arrangements to transport the completed bench to your home on the following Monday.

Shrine Building Clay Class

July 15, 17, 29, 31 2025 (Tuesday and Thursday) 5:00- 7:00

Learn to build a clay arched shadow altar/ box using Robin’s techniques. There are many components to this piece and Robin takes you through it step by step. She has templates to help you create and make it your own. Such as, an altar for your pet dog or cat. Or an Altar remembrance of your nana. It helps to have previous experience with hand building clay but not required.

Included in this session is lessons in handbuilding, glaze techniques, tools, and kiln firings. Clay and Glaze will need to be purchased at Marjons Ceramic Supply Store. Supply list will be provided after registration. This is a 4 day class to complete.  

For those of you who would like to attend a morning session, Robin can accommodate you for a minimum of 2 people. Classes are typically held at Blue Rave Art School with 4 or more students. If there are only 2-3 students, the class is held at Robin’s home studio.

Quail Shadow Box Clay Class January 6,7, 20,21 2026

Learn how to build a clay box with a charming quail scene. Beginners welcome. Using Robin’s hand building techniques, students will create desert plants and quails in a shadow box. Lesson, tools and 2 firings are included in this class. Clay will need to be purchased at Marjons Ceramic Store. This is a 4 session class to complete the project.

Poppy Shadow Box Class tba

Learn how to make a ceramic Poppy flower head in a shadow box! These classes are held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30.

Ceramic 3- Dimensional Flower Tiles part 1

I will be offering a Ceramic 3-dimensional Flower class date TBA

Held at the Blue Raven Art School, 720 E Prince Rd. Tucson.  Clay, lesson, tools and 2 firings are included in this class. A glaze list will be provided and will need to be purchased at Marjons Ceramic Supply Store. Students will be learning how to create these two samples.  The Saguaro Cactus flower and the Mexican Bird of Paradise. Last fall I taught a Shrine building class. Now it is time to offer the 3 dimensional aspects of the project. This class is for any clay and mosaic artists that would like to use more sculptural work in their projects. The focus will be on technique and color. Student will have the opportunity to make several examples to grasp the technique.

These are stunning 3-D tiles to be used for mosaics. 

Ceramic 3- Dimensional Flower Tile Class part 2 (roses and Datura-desert lily) tba

This class focuses on components of mosaic tiled larger art project. Last fall I taught a Shrine building class. Now it is time to offer the 3 dimensional aspects of the project. This class is for any clay and mosaic artists that would like to use more sculptural work in their projects. Pictured here is a sample of how I use the 3-d flower tiles. The focus will be on technique and color. Student will have the opportunity to make several examples of flowers to grasp the technique.
